T’boli Woman
9” x 12” Water color on water color paper.
I painted this T’boli woman from a picture as reference. Someday I
would like to see her up close and paint her in person. She is garbed in the traditional blue fitted, lavishly embroidered jacket with an arm fully ringed
with bracelets. It speaks of their culture and how beautiful and creative the T’boli people are in their way of decorating themselves. It is said that they
dress in such beauty to please the Gods and each other so that they use this attire even on ordinary days. And we thought such fine clothes are only reserved for festivals!
