When my mom was invited to attend a thanksgiving ritual in a Talaandig community in Lantapan, Bukidnon she decided to take us along so we could
also witness this very special occasion. It was indeed a very beautiful
learning experience for us to see how the whole community participated in
the whole process of the ritual which clearly depicts their unique beliefs and practices. Everybody danced with the rhythmic beating of the drums
including the toddlers who also had their costumes on. It’s indeed amazing
how they were able to preserve their way of life and their religion through
the years. This painting was based on the photo of two brothers which I
took before we left the place. I worked on it when we went back to
Cagayan de Oro City.
